This was a short competition entry for a large area (1700 ha) of land near one of China's major port cities. Divided by a major highway and criss-crossed with utility easements and existing agricultural canals, the challenge was to come up with a compelling plan that preserved some existing villages and natural elements, as well as celebrated the canals. Several schemes were created; at clients direction the circular scheme was chosen for further development.
