Science & tech park   |  hsinchu, TAIWAN

This was a short exercise to plan a new industrial area that would include research facilities in addition to manufacturing. For the most part the plan follows a regular grid pattern to facilitate flexible parcelization and large scale production facilities. The site sits on an elevated plateau overlooking agricultural fields below. The main research elements - which include the National Health Research Institute and Agricultural Research Institute - have views from the overlook. There are parks for employee recreation and there is generous streetscape planting consistent with a high quality industrial park.

The project is largely complete: about 80% of the buildings/facilities have been constructed although there is room for expansion of the research components.

Role: Brian Jennett was the lead designer for this effort and produced the drawings and presentation while employed at Haigo Shen International Engineering Consultants.
