Projects
Baoan Central business district | Shenzhen, China
This project was a competition entry for a new central business district and waterfront development in the rapidly growing metropolitan area of Shenzhen, China.
A previous planning effort set some of the key parameters of the project, including major roads and infrastructure. This plan seeks to build on the previous efforts by creating a finer grain road and open space network, much of which follows a series of parks along a winding boulevard connecting various neighborhoods (the "Jade Necklace"). A transit system was proposed and the future land use, density, and development parcels were reconfigured to reflect the value created by both transit stops and open space amenities.
Role: Brian Jennett was the design and production lead for a team of approximately 10 people working on the project. He created the plans, diagrams, 3D model, and report narrative that was part of the submittal. He also coordinated with the renderer and model makers, and brought the deliverables to China.
