Cruise industry economic impact study | Singapore
This project was an economic impact study involving comprehensive surveys, modeling, analysis, and recommendations regarding the Cruise Tourism Industry for the Singapore Tourism Board.
The goal of the study was to help quantify the impacts in terms of GDP, wages, and jobs, both industry-wide and segmented by factors such as market category, type of port call, ship size, itinerary length, and so forth. Such information is useful in decision making related to marketing and promotional activities, as well as negotiations with cruise lines over issues such as home porting and/or setting up of local offices as a base from which to grow the regional market.
Brian Jennett performed this work while employed as a Director of Economics + Planning at AECOM.
