exxon-mobil & shell housing | doha, qatar
Exxon-Mobil and Shell were looking to form a joint venture to procure expatriate housing in Doha, Qatar in a consolidated compound built to their custom specifications. The scope was to conduct stakeholder engagement, and author detailed guidelines and specifications (design, planning/technical, and engineering) for the housing compound(s). These documents were then issued as part of a formal tender/request for proposals, whereupon the team assisted the client(s) in the systematic evaluation of those proposals.
Role: Brian Jennett served as project lead and main author of Planning, Architectural Design, Landscape Architecture, and Engineering Criteria for a proposed 1000 unit Housing Compound in Doha, Qatar while working as a Senior Real Estate Consultant at HOK. The project was a joint venture between both companies and would cost a total of US$500 million to construct. Brian convinced both parties to incorporate energy efficient and water-saving measures that will significantly reduce operational costs and environmental impact, increase resident comfort, and reflect local/regional building traditions.
